Email forwarding is free for existing customers. The way this
works is as follows.
If you have a domain hosted at IT Canada, you can forward addresses
within that domain to wherever you like. You get a web-based
interface that allows you to control what addresses get forwarded
to what recipients. There is no limit on the number of addresses
you can have at your domain. You can also point multiple addresses
at one recipient. Recipients may consist of local mailboxes
(i.e. a POP3 mailbox at IT Canada) or external addresses.
If you don't have a domain here, you can take advantage of
one of our "mail park" domains. Your address at one of these
domains can be forwarded to a local mailbox or an external address.
At present, these domains are:
- it-mail.net
- int.org
- canadian.org
In either case, the forwarding costs us very little, so we
thought we'd make it free. But you can only get it if you're
a customer of IT Canada, even if you're just buying a POP3
mailbox. There has to be something in it for us,
after all.
You should also be aware of our spam policies.
(Okay, that was a joke. They're actually part of our Acceptable
Use Policy.) You should also be aware that we are as draconian
as possible with respect to filtering spam that would enter our
network. Our inbound mail server filters mail on the basis of listings
in all available MAPS blacklists, as
well as the relay blacklists ORBZ,
ORBL and ORDB
and the complaince-encouragement lists at RFC-Ignorant.Com.
We also maintain our own blacklist of offending netblocks and domains.
This sometimes causes legitimate mail to be blocked from our servers
either due to misconfiguration issues at other ISPs or corporations
or other ISPs inability to deal with their own abuse issues.
Just so you know.
